Tuesday, December 7, 2021 – Today, the Pediatric Angel Foundation proudly announces its new campaign called ‘Become An Angel,’ that seeks to be a movement toward social action to support the social emotional well-being of Florida’s children to foster development, help them overcome trauma, and develop creativity and resiliency.
Imagine making the world a better, safer one, by promoting children’s safety and reaching at-risk children through the power of art and self-expression. That is what is happening when the Pediatric Associates Foundation Board of Directors was approached to join forces with the super talented and world-renowned artist, Alexander Mijares last year.
In March 2020, Alexander Mijares, social media influencer and renowned artist and a group of committed pediatric doctors took the formal step of teaming up to raise funds for our children in Florida in some very creative ways.
Beyond his success professionally, Mijares has made it his life’s mission to use his artistic talent to give back to the community by remaining an active philanthropist. When given the option to create his own philanthropic foundation, Alex asked what about teaming up with a group that already does this?
Since those early discussions, it made sense for the two to collaborate to better help advocate and serve and reach youth through the power of art and advocacy. This campaign to ‘Become An Angel’ allows the public to join this movement to contribute to children’s development and to the Angel Campaign Fund that will help guide this project forward.
The Angel concept was inspired by a vision from Alexander’s travels internationally in his work with kids who have few resources and from teaching them resiliency through the power of self-expression through art in many remote areas.
Alexander Mijares, joined by his wife Greta, and the pediatric physicians are excited to announce this ‘Become An Angel’ campaign and social movement to further raise awareness for at-risk youth, and promote self-expression for traumatized children through the power of art.
